My Favorite Film Reviews-The Pianist

So, I have netflix and I love it. I watch movies probably much more than I should, and last night I watched a movie that I'd been meaning to watch for quite some time. Roman Polanski has long been one of my favorite directors, no matter what controversies he may have gotten himself into, his life was not easy and he is a true and complete artist. The film I watched, The Pianist, has won many awards and is by all means a well know film. It's been out for eight years now, meaning that it came out when I was 10. I really doubt that I could have handled the grit and graphic nature of this film when I was ten, nor do I think that the complex and intricate story would have really sunk it and gotten to me. Adrien Brody, who played the main role in the film, is a wonderful and very skillful actor, he's also something very nice to look at in my opinion.

The film followed the life of a pianist who played on Polish radio before the occupation of Warsaw, and how much his life changed as well as his struggle to survive in the ghetto and outside of it. It's based on a true story,  and let me tell you, you will get lost in the dark and dismal world of WWII-era Warsaw, you will be afraid for this man's life, and you will enjoy this masterful film.
